The Sufis advise us to speak only after our words have managed to pass through three gates.
After the first gate, we ask ourselves,
"Are these words true?"
If so, we let them pass on; if not, back they go.
At the second gate, we ask,
"Are they necessary?
At the last gate, we ask,
"Are they kind?"

Does this apply to blogging?
Your writing leaves me speechless. As to love, tell Chico he is very wrong, without love you have never really lived. Their are many different kinds of love, you spent an afternoon with one of mine on the weekend. That's called friendship love that has endured some 30 years (also known as your Aunt Carole)
PS - Buy the running shoes, they might not be there tomorrow!!
