on change

Someone else's line:

"time and circumstance will alter just about everything ... "

Is this true?

If you truly love someone ... unconditionally, completely, without reserve ... can time and circumstance really alter it?

Should time and circumstance be able to?

alter is not always the same as change...

become different in some particular way, without permanently losing one's or its former characteristics or essence

definition of alter?

think you might as well put the definition of change up here then too ... just for argument sake of course! =)

change: to make the form, nature, content, future course, etc., of (something) different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone

*sigh* ok, significant difference.

SCOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT - I agree. But it is rare. I have someone in my life that continues to do these awful things yet I still love ... interesting (and I know this comment will cause controversy) comment to come from a man!

Thanks!

I have been hurt by the one I loved, and I stopped loving him, due to certain circumstances...at least I thought I stopped loving him, I think you just love someone or you don't, the relationship may be altered, but the love is always there. Does that even make sense???

I think I have figured it out... no matter what happens you dont stop loving the person ... but sometimes you have to step back to keep yourself ok and healthy and happy ... especially if what they are doing is contributing to negative change in you ... *sign* this is all too deep for a lovely sunshiny day...

I think loving unconditionally anyone else in your life (besides your children) is a scary and downright risky prospect...

But some people are just so flawed that if someone didn't love them unconditionally, they wouldn't have anyone. I have someone who just keeps messing up. He doesn't mean to, he's just damaged. He's pissed off or alienated everyone in his life. But he's actually a good person. Maybe I love him unconditionally bacause I'm a Mom, and I can see he needs it.
